It is official. We are selling our coop unit. The asking price was about $15,000 lower than we asked and got for last year (we tried to sell it last year after we put an offer on a new house, but we backed out of the new house contract because of one serious structured problem). That is in view of current real estate market conditions. We want to be aggressive in our price hoping that our house will sell quickly. We also offer a $2500 closing help! We will see how the initial reaction will be.
I also sold Sandisk today for a profit of $1100. A 15% gain in two month. It got an upgrade from Citibank today so the price jumped! I decided to take profit and wait for a better entry later.
And Amgen was down more than $1 today, so it was a good decision for me to sell it yesterday since the quarterly performance was quite lackluster.
So far, I am very happy with my trading performance and that gives me more confidence to improve and learn more.

Sold Amgen and Exxon Mobile
Today. I sold Amgen this afternoon at $62.87. I make a profit of about $700. That is a more than 10% profit in less than a month. I don't want to wait until tonight's quarter profit conference to know their quarterly performance. The stock may go higher or lower depending on the conference outcome and I don't want to chance losing this profit. If it dips lower tomorrow due to lackluster quarterly performance, I will consider buying back. Right now, I am happy with what I have.
As for Exxon Mobile, it is in a DRIP account. I usually don't like to sell anything in a DRIP account unless it is a loss that I don't want to keep. But since Exxon daily-weekly-monthly RSI-7 are at extreme levels right now, I want to take profit. I sold most of it, leaving 5 shares in the account to keep building positions with monthly DCA. I will make about $2200 on this sale and hopefully with more DCA, I can build up more positions at lower prices later on.

Tax File
I did it. We mailed out our 2006 federal and state tax return today. And I paid a total of 3530 for taxes owed. Ahhhhhhhhhhh, that hurts! But what can I do?!
Hopefully with a possibly much bigger house and its much bigger mortgage and other tax saving measures this year, we should be able to reduce our tax obligations significantly!

Safeway Giftcard
It is still available. The same deal that you will get $25 gift card if you buy 10 participating products. My husband and I will try this again this weekend, hopefully to buy 10 hot dogs and use the $25 gift card we got last weekend to pay for it and then get another gift card. Neat! We will see whether we can find 10 hot dogs to buy, if not, we will just forget this deal since it is not worth buying anything else we don't use just to get the $25. It seems we may have more hot dog lunch days!
Amgen stock is doing really great. I am up $230 now. But Micron got pounded this morning due to their negative quarter news yesterday after. I am down $50 so far. But I think I will hold on to it for a little while. It has been a volatile stock so far.

Bought Agmen
Yes, I bought 100 share of Agmen at $55.78 a share. It is traded also at 52 week low and the RSI are at extremely low levels. I didn't follow this stock but got a tip from Bill Cara's blog and did some research. It is not for a long term hold, but short term trading to make a quick profit (or loss if I am wrong). It is also recommended by Morningstar as one of their deep value stocks. We will see how this trade plays out!
Update:
Johnson and Johnson is doing great. Up about $90.
MU is up about $85.
And Sandisk is up $1100.
That is all for my stock picking stories.

Welcome Mapgirl and Others
My blog's readership is very limited, just my husband and maybe couple other friends. I really haven't advertised or mentioned it to others. I think I didn't create this blog to make money, but as a way to keep my friends' informed of my life since some of them live as far away as in China and we haven't had a lot of chance to meet and chat! And also as a way to keep my husband informed of my security tradings. He has complete trust in me to handle our finances, but I am sure he wants an update once in a while and this is a excellent way for him to learn how to take care of our investments in case one day he needs to do it himself. Although I told him that if that day ever comes, he should put everything in a target date mutual fund.
Nonetheless, I am happy to welcome new friends and fellow PF bloggers so that we can all learn and prosper!

Amazing Deals This Weekend
Oh, where do I start?!
Safeway first, this is my favorite! We got coupons and store ads with Sunday Washington Post delivery. In it, there was two ads from Safeway. One is to get a $25 gift card when you buy any 10 participating products. The other one is three coupons to buy 4 General Mills cereal for $4, one dozen egg for 99 cents and one breakfast link sausage for $1.99. We couldn't let those deals pass by. They are just too good! We went to the closest Safeway near us Sunday morning at 7:30am. Barely a soul there, my favorite time of shopping period since I can roam the store without worrying about bumping into any body.
In order to get the 10 participating products, we set our sight on Hunt's Ketchup. That is my husband's daily staple, really, he puts ketchup on everything! We searched up and down the shelves, but could only find 7 bottles hiding in the back. So we needed three more products. Next best option, hot dogs. We bought 3 package of hot dogs. And we bought milk as well along with the cereals, egg and sausage link.
We marched to the check out. Total receipts comes up to $39.41 which breaks down to $1.99 for the sausage, $3 for the 4 cereals ($4 in the ads, but I have a $1 off coupon), 99 cent for egg, $5 for 2 one gallon milk and rest of it are for the ketchup and hot dogs. Then we got a $25 Safeway gift card right away. In essence, we paid for all those stuff for only $14.41 after the gift card.
Then we went to Rite Aid to get their free after rebate shampoo, body wash and Advil (for Advil, it is 99 cents after rebate). I have a $1.5 off coupon for the body wash. The receipt is $7.77. We will get a rebate of $8, so we earned 23 cents at the end.
When we got home, we poured one gallon of milk into 5 glass bottles and put them in the freezer. That is how we make sure that the milk don't spoil before my husband finishes them. We don't use milk that much other than for his breakfast since I don't drink milk and we don't bake. He will be having cereal all this week for breakfast to make sure the other gallon of milk will be used up quickly. We used to buy those pasta sauce in glass bottles and I cleaned them to use as containers for milk. Put them in the freezer and it will never go bad. According to my husband, they taste just the same.
And I cooked up all the hot dogs (21 of them). This will be our lunch for this week. 2 for each of us, 4 for a day, 5 days a week. Perfect!
After the shopping trip, I think I will put a freeze on the following items until we use them up because we just have too much! All of them we got either free or at ridiculous discounts.
Free stuff: razor-10, deodorant-7, toothpaste-7, toothbrush-3, body wash-3, shampoo-3, dish washer detergent-5
Ridiculous discounts: ketchup-10, tissue paper-too many to count, cereal-10.
Really, it is nice to have so many free and cheap stuff, but I think having too many stuff has it own price too.
